Kenneth D. Fleming

	Kenneth D. Fleming, 85, of DuQuoin, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2002 at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in DuQuoin.
	Kenneth was a retired laborer.  He worked at Southern Illinois University for 18 years.  He was a member of the Second Baptist Church in DuQuoin and was a former Sunday School teacher and church song leader.  Kenneth enjoyed playing his guitar and singing.  he had played and sung for the nursing home residents for 30 years.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II.
	Kenneth was born January 5, 1917 at Sunfield, the son of Stephen and Nellie (Dana) Fleming.  He married Marilyn (Jackie) Lively on September 27, 1947 at Old DuQuoin and she survives.
	In addition to his wife Jackie, of DuQuoin, he is survived by children, Chuck Fleming and wife Georgia of DuQuoin, David Fleming and wife Jalena of DuQuoin, Vicky Holmes and husband Wayne of Fayette, Ala., Dana Fleming and wife Rhonda of Tamaroa; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
	He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Esther Hampleman and grandson, Steven Fleming.
	Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 21 at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin with Rev. Steve Bareis officiating.  Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park at DuQuoin.
	Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin.
	Friends may make memorials to the Second Baptist Church.
